BRITAIN has been warned to brace itself for an influx of Bulgarian gypsies planning to plunder the generous benefits system.

Roma leader Tsvetelin Kanchev claims that a new law in Bulgaria forcing the unemployed to find a job within 18 months or lose state hand-outs will cause thousands of gypsies to leave the country.

And with gypsy communities already well established in Britain, it is feared that many will travel here to take advantage of our welfare system.

Last night there was growing concern that Britain faced another surge of migration. Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “British taxpayers’ money should not be paid out to benefits tourists.

“People work extremely hard to pay their taxes so that they can be spent on our struggling services, not so people can travel hundreds of miles for a free payday.

“Gordon Brown should take a leaf out of the Bulgarian government’s book and tighten up how we spend money here or we will continue to be taken advantage of.”

Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migration Watch UK said: “Bulgarians can come to Britain to work only if they have a work permit or are self-employed and it’s very important that the Government ensures that this is the case.”

Mr Kanchev, leader of the gypsy political party Evroroma, told the Daily Express that Britain was widely regarded as a soft touch.

He said: “The new social security measures which came in January will leave many, many Roma people without the means to support themselves. People will either be forced into a life of crime or they will take advantage of community connections and flee abroad.”

He added:“Everyone has heard how the UK is the best country in Europe for work and opportunity.”

There are an estimated 800,000 romany gypsies in Bulgaria out of a population of 7.8million.

The nationwide unemployment rate has fallen from 20 per cent before the country joined the EU on January 1 last year to about seven per cent.

However, the jobless rate among gypsies remains among the highest in Europe, with 90 per cent out of work in some areas. Official statistics reveal that 268,446 are currently living on state benefits.

But Bulgarian Minister of Labour and Social Policy Emilia Maslarova announced last month that 17,642 would lose their benefits in accordance with the controversial new Social Security Law.

This decrees that “people fit for labour” are entitled to benefits for 18 months if they are actively seeking work. But they will lose any entitlement for 12 months if they fail to find work or take part in government-sponsored work programmes.

Mr Kanchev claims the new law is unfair on gypsies as many struggle with prejudice, extreme poverty and high illiteracy rates. He said: “If the Roma people cannot be helped here in Bulgaria, then why not help them to get to where they can help themselves? Many will head to the UK as they know that living is good there, others will head for Germany as they have connections there.”

He added: “My people are always portrayed as criminals, thieves, prostitutes and people that would sell their own family. But you have to ask why? When you are hungry, cold and see no future here, you have no option. I have people that have said enough is enough.”

Under the Bulgarian benefits system a single mother with a young child is entitled to about £20 per month, a single person gets about £15 per month and an unemployed couple gets £25 per month.

By comparison Britain’s weekly pay-outs are extremely generous. Jobseekers’ allowance is worth £59.15, income support £59.15 per week and incapacity benefit £81.35.

Bulgarian citizens can claim British unemployment benefits only after they have worked for a year.

But child benefit goes to everyone from an EU country – £18.10 a week for the eldest plus £12.10 for younger offspring. So a family with five children would get almost £300 a month – a small fortune back in Bulgaria.

Whitehall officials have been issued with a guide on how to talk about Islamist terrorists without offending Muslims.

One thing they should not do is call them Islamist terrorists but instead ministers and civil servants have been told to refer to them as “criminals”.

Now the language has been codified into a phrase-book issued to departments.

It has been produced by the new Research, Information and Communication Unit, a “hearts and minds” outfit based in the Home Office.

The RCU has been set up specifically to counter al-Qa’eda’s efforts to manipulate individuals and groups.

The guide tells civil servants not to use terms such as Islamist extremism or jihadi-fundamentalist.

Instead, they should refer to violent extremism and criminal murderers or thugs to avoid any implication that there is an explicit link between Islam and terrorism.

It warns those engaged in counter-terrorist work that talk of a struggle for values or a battle of ideas is often heard as a “confrontation/clash between civilisations/cultures”.

Rather, it suggests that talking about the idea of shared values works much more effectively.

Ministers have been using the new rhetoric for some time and no longer refer to the “war on terror”.

In a speech on counter-terrorism last month, Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, declared violent extremism to be “anti-Islamic”.

The guide states: “This is not intended as a definitive list of what not to say but rather to highlight terms which risk being misunderstood and therefore prevent the effective reception of the message.

“This is not about political correctness, but effectiveness – evidence shows that people stop listening if they think you are attacking them.”

A series of newspaper ads have been commissioned under headlines like “Sod London House Prices,” “Screw Working in Staines,” “Stuff London Traffic” and “Bugger it, I’m off to Adelaide.”

“It’s a stand off challenge for people to stick two fingers up to the UK and reach out for better business prospects, better health care, higher quality education, warmer weather, lower house prices – overall a far superior way of life,” said a spokesman.

The ads, which promise “fine weather, fine wine, fine houses, fine jobs, fine beaches and fine universities,” are aimed at skilled workers like plumbers and electricians. Students are also being targeted.

Adelaide already claims that 400 policemen are among the 6,000 workers who have left Britain for its sun-kissed shores in the last two years.

“They were disheartened by UK policing policies and drawn to a career with less crime and where all beat police carry guns,” the spokesman said.

With many young people unable to afford their own homes in Britain, the campaign unashamedly flags up the cheap cost of housing on the other side of the world.

A three bedroomed house with double garage and swimming pool at Aldinga Beach just 35 minutes drive from Adelaide costs just £111,500.

The campaign also claims that Adelaide is one of the world’s least expensive cities; has lowest rents; average summer temperatures of 28C; winter temperatures of 16C.

Although the state is four times the size of Britain it has a population of just 1.584m.

South Australia’s London based Agent General Bill Muirhead, who helped found the advertising agency M and C Saatchi, said the campaign had been made deliberately aggressive.

“If we didn’t have the credentials, we wouldn’t go up against the UK, but we have,” he said.

“Adelaide is enjoying an economic revolution and boom times lie ahead.

“We want people from the UK to come over and be a part of our successes.

“In return, we’ll reward people with jobs, migration support, a better quality of life, world class wine, rich culture and amazingly affordable house prices, great scenery and beautiful beaches – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

Brits have beaten well worn path to Australia over the years. Between 1946 and 1972, more than one million made the trip.

They were known as the “£10 poms” because they paid £10 for their assisted passage.

Mr Muirhead said: “South Australia boasts one of the most progressive governments for investmnent, environmental credentials and migration in the world – this is a state that welcomes, encourages and rewards new arrivals.”The advertising campaign is a serious call to all businesses, skilled professionals, students and tourists to look towards a future in a more progressive climate.”

The ad campaign will run for five weeks.

This is a very tempting prospect if you can give up your family and friends and are ready to up root your family. It beats this depressing country, Plus the Australians will be pleased to know we are hard working, we aren’t coming to live off their benefits systems and we are willing to adopt their ways of life. We wont build mosques, bring in multiply wifes and ban Christmas because it upsets us.

I have worked all my life and never claimed any benefits, I have private health care and pay income tax in the 40% bracket. I paid for my own further education. So really I have nothing to thank the government for regarding my status.

I have worked hard and have had no rewards from the government for my efforts, If I lost my job I wouldn’t be able to claim benefits because my wife earns above the threshold. Yet you can take an immigrant who hasn’t paid anything in the system, he comes to the UK with his harem of wifes and claim for housing, child benefits, and numerous other hand outs whilst claiming for multiple wifes. This is another sad example of what NuLabour have brought in their 10 years of demise.

Whilst reading the papers I came across this article which I found rather disturbing. The story is about a team of reporters who go undercover at a mosque, in Totteridge Road, which is above the controversial Muslim Education Centre.

Last year researchers from the Tory think tank Policy Exchange discovered books at the centre containing extremist material that encouraged jihad against non Muslims.

The story goes into detail on how this Muslim claims government benefits whilst owning a 5 bedroom house worth £350,000, but the sinister part of the story is the charity work which he collects for, he uses a false charity number and collects from unsuspecting ? Muslim neighbourhoods.

He also recruits other people to work for this charity where they are allowed to keep £200 out of £600. the remainder going to fund terror groups into jihad who are at war with none Muslims.

He claims to be a British citizen, he claims benefits, lives in this country then supports terrorism against this country. People like this should be hung for treason which would act as a warning to other Muslims who want to bite the hand that feeds them. The full story can be read here.
